The new Issue of Country living gives as an interesting idea for vintage Easter eggs’ decoration. The idea is very attractive and not so difficult to accomplish.
There are two ways to decorate the eggs like this. First one presented by Country Living is to download the desired patterns, resize them as to fit the eggs and then to print them on a temporary tattoo paper.
The second way is to use decoupage technique for Easter eggs’ decoration. To do this, you will need eggs, decoupage glue, napkins with patterns, scissors, brush and acrylic lacquer.
It will be better if you use white eggs for the decoupage. However, if the picture is dark, you can use and brown ones. You can also add some tone to eggs. Paint them with acrylic paint in the desired color.
Step 1 No matter if you are decorating boiled eggs or only eggshells the surface must be dry and clean.
Step 2 Cut out the desired patterns. Use pictures that will fit the eggs. Do not choose too many pictures, too long or too wide ones. Separate the figure separate from the extra layers.
Step 3 Spread the glue on the surface of the egg and carefully place the drawing by using a brush.
Step 4 When the image is dry you may use gold acrylic to contour the image.
Step 5 Cover the design with acrylic lacquer in two or more layers and let each layer to dry.
