Easter is close! Have you started to prepare for the holiday? Or you need some ideas? Discover how to decorate Easter eggs with a pattern-silhouette: a simple and very stylish Easter decoration.
To create such Easter ornament you will need wooden eggs of different sizes, universal primer, acrylic paint, the desired outlines to be transfered to the eggs, carbon-paper, scissors, marker, adhesive paper, brushes of different sizes.
Step 1 First you need to cover the egg-shell. You can always use an ordinary hen egg instead of wooden one. But in this case you must first make two holes, blow through them to remove the yolk and white and then to start working with the remaining shell.
Step 2 Thus, cover the eggs (wooden eggs or empty shells) with the primer. This will help the paint to lay evenly. Allow the primer to dry for several minutes.
Step 3 While the primer is drying outline the shapes on an adhesive paper using carbon paper. You can use picture from the internet or you can draw them directly on the adhesive paper. Afterwards carefully cut the shapes with sharp scissors.
Step 4 Put the egg in the paint - this will be the color of the silhouettes. If you want to have pink silhouettes on a blue background, the first layer of paint should be pink. Let the paint dry.

Step 5 When the paint has dried carefully glue the silhouette on the egg. It is important to gently smooth finger edges of the silhouette so they are well stuck (otherwise the paint will penetrate under the label, and the silhouette will be fuzzy).
Step 6 Cover the egg with the second layer of paint. This will be the main color of the egg and the background to the silhouette. Allow paint to dry, then carefully remove the taped outline. Easter egg is ready!
For these Easter crafts you could use not only paintings but also letters or geometric patterns. If you want to make colored shapes, you just have to put more layers of paint. For example you want to have two drawings on the egg – one red and one green, on a yellow background. Then first you need to cover the eggs with green paint. After drying glue first silhouette (that will be in green) and paint the egg with red paint. When the paint dries glue the second silhouette (that will be in red) and paint with yellow paint. When the last layer of paint has dried take off both the silhouette.
