diy spring wreath with magnolia twigs
Spring is still far away but I am expecting it eagerly. Here's an idea from Living at Home how to make a spring wreath with floral motifs which will be a wonderful decoration for your balcony or your living room.

Spring wreath, decorated with small flower vases

The number of vases depends on the size of the wreath and your taste. This beautiful wreath made of magnolia and flowers in small vases will be astonishing decoration for your coffee table.

Materials needed: magnolia twigs, ring of willow, wire, vases (small bottles or glasses), pair of pliers, hook.

The wreath of magnolia twigs

Step 1 As a basis for wreath you may use willow ring that can be purchased at almost any flower shop. To strengthen the basis you shall entwine wire into the willow branches. Start from the edge to prevent slippage of the branches and continue along the ring.

Step 2 Cut short twigs of magnolia and collect them in bunches. Then carefully entwine the twigs into the ring of willow.

The vases

Step 3 To hang the small vases you shall make wire hangers. Cut a piece of silver wire and twist it around the vases (you can also use small bottles or glasses) so to bend the long end like a hook. For this project small vases and cups which have thicker throat are most suitable – so that the wire won’t slip.

Step 4 Pour a little water in the vases and place flowers. Choose anything you like - the more aromatic, the better - tulips, hyacinths, grape, buttercups, ornamental herbs or single leaves. The design of the mini bouquets depends entirely on your mood and taste - you can use blooms only one type of flowers or combine them with other fresh and colorful flowers.

Hang on the wreath

Step 5 The beautiful spring wreath is now ready. It only remains to find a suitable place. You may hang it on the ceiling in the living room. Use solid ribbons – tie the first edges to the wreath and the tie the other ends. Pay particular attention to the strength of the tie bar. Once the upper end is securely fastened, hook it on a hook specially mounted on the ceiling.
