Step 1 Few days before you plan to start decorating your tree check up the Christmas decoration. Make a list of what you are missing (and later use this list in the store for Christmas decorations). Also check up your the condition of the old toys and decoration - they may need some repair or a new shine.

You may also do yourself Christmas decoration if you want.

Step 2 Choose carefully the Christmas tree. Don't put a big tree in a small room. Don't place a live tree near a radiator or other heat source. If you have kids or pets you need to have a solid basis. Another way to make the tree more stable is to bind the top of the tree to the cabinets through laces (you may hide the laces with garlands). If your tree is too low you can use a podium (table) covered with Christmas paper or cloth.

Step 3 The lights are the first decoration that you put on the Christmas tree. Before you start using the lights read the instructions. Don't use candles or sparklers. Check the lights if the lights are in good working order. Don't use more than three electric garlands at the same time.

Start to decorate from bootom to top andoccupy the space evenly. If you have more light use them to decorate the trunk. It will be easier to decorate with lights on so. Place the lights on a spiral rather than bottom to top.

Step 4 Place the garlands and ribbons. This time start from top down but remember to put less decoration on top.
