Step 1 Use the compasses to draw the circles. Then cut out the circles and arrange them in the desired shape.
Step 2 To make an apple put two or three small circles on the bottom and gradually increase the size of the circles and on the top place again two or three smaller items. To make a pear put two or three small circles on the bottom, then put two or three larger items and gradually decrease the size of the circles.

Step 4 Use the needle and the twine to sew through the hole and create the gourd’s “ribs” by wrapping the twine around the stack and through the hole again. Continue to sew and wrap until you have come full circle, leaving equal space between each wrap.
