For this project you shall obtain more robust and well-shaped cans, the shape and the dimensions of your choice. Optionally you can use as a basis glass, plastics and even ceramic one vessels with cylindrical shape. Ordinary cans, however, are the cheapest and easiest material to use for this purpose.

You may use this method to make flower pots instead of vases. In this case first make drainage holes on the bottom side of the can.

Step 1 Before you start the diy-project wash the boxes carefully - this will reduce the chance of bacteria developing.

Step 2 To stand stems of flowers in a stable position you can put in the can a piece of decorative wire mesh. Thus you will be able to arrange the flowers in small groups so that they will fit in the mesh - that will give the bouquet shape and support.

Step 3 Finally finish the project with the most important element - the birch bark. You can leave the bark without further attachment (if its diameter coincides with the diameter of the box and it stays relatively stable around it) or you can attach a little glue or adhesive tape.
